The Invest & Expand in Pohjois-Savo project strengthens the invest in operations in the municipalities of Pohjois-Savo region and promotes the international recognition of the strong business ecosystems. The goal is to attract new companies and investments by showcasing the strong know-how in the region. Invest and Expand in North Savo is funded by the ERDF, the North Savo Regional Council and the municipalities of Kuopio, Varkaus, Ylä-Savo, Leppävirta, Siilinjärvi and Joroinen.

European Business Angels Network (EBAN)is the pan-European representative for the early stage investor community, gathering over 150 member organizations in more than 50 countries. EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 11.4 billion euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN’s purpose is to create and lead the European business angel networks as well as individual business angels. EBAN supports e.g. young innovative companies, business accelerators and e-funding platforms and encourages the exchange of experience among early stage investors as well as best practices.

Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) is a non-profit association of private investors on a mission to inspire private investments. The network is one of the largest and most active business angel networks in the world with over 650+ approved members. The three main activities consist of matchmaking of startups and investors, sharing of best practices, and representing the interest of private investors.

FiBAN and EBAN will hold a workshop on how to do the winning go-to-market strategy.

You may have the best product in the world but who cares if no one knows about its existence? Main reasons why startups need go-to-market strategy is to secure faster profit, reduce potential risks, discover all particularities of their business and product, make investors more sure and gain a competitive advantage. The workshop will explain why startups need a good GTM strategy in place, and how to create it.

Elias Aalto is one of the founders and the original product lead of Wolt. He's also a co-founder of Qvik – a digital agency that has grown organically to over 120 experts. Prior to them, he designed and developed early games on the iOS, claiming the first Apple Design Award in the Nordics for his game Wooden Labyrinth 3D.

After exiting Wolt, Elias has concentrated on bringing up his daughters and dabbling in angel investing. Recently he joined Shark Tank Finland as one of the sharks on the show.

Juho Pesonen is a professor of tourism business and deputy head of the department at University of Eastern Finland Business School. He is a member of the Tourism Business research group and the director of the International Master’s Degree Programme in Tourism Marketing and Management. Prof. Pesonen completed his Ph.D. in marketing at University of Eastern Finland, focusing on market segmentation in rural tourism. Now his research focuses on understanding how tourism businesses can survive and thrive in the digital and sustainability transformations. Prof. Pesonen also has the title of Adjunct Professor of digital marketing at University of Turku. He has widely published his research in dozens of peer-reviewed academic journals and has edited several books in the tourism field. He also holds several board positions in companies and associations.
